Eihwaz is rune of resiliency. The verse speaks of the yew’s ability to withstand the elements, staying steadfast.
Though yew is considered a softwood its density makes it is much harder than many hardwoods, which makes it extremely resistant to rot and fire. This density also allows the wood some flex while retaining its shape, making it an ideal material for bows, musical instruments, and cabinetry.
