Rainbow Obsidian Amulet

The obsidian in this pendant came from Mexico, and was cut into a 12mm x 14mm freeform cabochon. Blues and greens dance across a purple field in daylight, and shadows of the same hues play across the stone even with indoor lighting.

The obsidian was set into antler from the Smoky Mountains using a special compound that is almost invisible to the naked eye, but glows blue after exposure to sunlight. It is finished with a recycled stainless steel bail, and comes on a waxed cotton cord with a stainless steel lobster claw clasp.
