The Johnson County Farmers Marker is another example of how Mountain City is constantly looking for the way to do the most good for it’s citizens. This is a market is for artists and growers only, there is no reselling allowed. Their primary goal is to give the local population access to nutritious foods at a reasonable price. By insisting that only farmers are allowed to sell their produce at the market they are also ensuring that money continues to circulate in Johnson County. So in the end this market benifits the customer, the farmer, and the economy. In order to better serve the community they accept SNAP Benefits and in the past have received grants to make those benefits stretch even farther for those at need in the county.

The market recently extended vender opportunities to local artisans aswell, with the same requirements as they place on farmers. You must create what you sell.
