Location: 120 E Main St, Mountain City, TN 37683. On the North West side of the building facing the parking lot.

This murals honors Tom and Fran Atkinson, the founders of WMCT Radio - The Mountain, and Janice Russell Appalachian heritage advocate of the Johnson County Jamboree.

Johnson County Jamboree was a Saturday morning program that aired on WMCT, the first radio station in the area. Tom Atkinson used to actively encourage local musicians to come to the station to play live sets on the radio. Musicians would travel from several states away with their instruments strapped to their backs just to get a chance to play.

This mural was created during the Plague of 2020 as a community art project to help alleviate the symptoms of isolation. Proper social distancing guidelines were observed during its creation.
